misc suggestions ...
guys,
I know that many residents haved move in and are still moving in. I am just wondering, while we are unpacking, how many of us have noticed "white elephants" amongst your things, i.e. things that can still be used, but you don't really need it? Heck, why not have a lelong section for this site? For the records, I am not promoting any direct selling etc ...
With this, we can have a buy and sell section for our residents (and visitors to this site). We can:
1.improve relationship with our neighbours (ice breaking).
2.dispose of our unwanted goods. Your "trash" might be someone else's "treasure".
3.avoid buying used items from other website because this 'lelong' happens between within neighbourhood (of course the captive market is smaller), but if anything goes wrong, we can just go to the person's house and ring him out (unless of course he has a small disclaimer somewhere saying 'buyer beware')
4.Save some extra $$$
Examples: Computer/Handphone/Car etc...
Any comment?
Second suggestion. Lets do our bit for the environment, and put up one of them colour co-ordinated recycle trash bins. Say, end of the week we can get it collected and sold to whoever collects them. Can make some small change for the commitee's funds. Now ... where do we put those bins? ...
Third suggestion. Once we have more residents, perhaps we can have some 'gotong royong' sessions. Ultimately it is just an outing to create activities for the residents as well as to let us mingle with each other. I am sure some of us won't really do work, but it doesn't really matter as long as we are out there together eh?
Forth suggestion. rukun tetangga anyone?
