"Crowd sourcing" idea to fight crimes - using technology to help the community fight crimes
folks - i met a few interesting people last night. they are what many call technopreneurs. they have an idea of using web 2.0 technology to enable the community to work together to fight crimes.

i found the idea very compelling: imagine if you will a platform where ordinary folks can report crimes and have it instantly communicated to the wider community and the relevant authorities. imagine having the transparency of where are the crime hotspots around the country. imagine being able to do this from your mobile phone.
do check them out.
Good idea
I think that is a good idea ... however, as all swords cuts both ways, the stats may be used by those high-tech crime-commiters ..... to strategically execute their "plans".... this technology can definitely be exploited to "scare" those who are attempting or even thinking about committing a crime. I guess, the more details on those "crimers" could be helpful ... pictures, identity numbers, names. I guess the easier people can identify them, they would think more times before doing anything ...
